Design Your Funding Logic Model
Hi friend 👋💛
Here’s something I say almost weekly as a grant strategist:
A logic model isn’t a form — it’s a superpower.
Most people see it as a chart funders make them fill out.
But when you approach it the right way, it becomes the clearest explanation of your impact you’ll ever create.
Let’s break it down the simple way:
1️⃣ Inputs → What you have
Your staff, partners, volunteers, funding, curriculum…
Everything you can bring to the table.
2️⃣ Activities → What you do
Your actual service delivery.
Classes, outreach, mentoring, workshops, direct services.
3️⃣ Outputs → What you count
The numbers that show activity happened:
“How many people participated? Hours taught? Meals served?”
4️⃣ Outcomes → What changes
This is the heart of the story.
Skills gained, behaviors shifted, stability increased, confidence built, communities strengthened.
And here’s the part most people miss:
👉 Your logic model is your north star.
When you’re clear on your outcomes, writing proposals becomes 10x easier because you’re not guessing what to say.
Funders don’t just want to know what you did.
They want to know what changed because you exist.
When you can articulate that clearly, everything about grant writing becomes lighter, faster, and more effective.
Keep building clarity, one pillar at a time. 🌟
